Red Journal: More Psalms of David is a 2021 series of paintings inspired by my personal journal entries around that time, written in a little red journal I’ve since destroyed. I created Red Journal out of a need for emotional and spiritual release, and to experience empathy and connection with others without the risk of total vulnerability.
Now, I’ve since gathered the courage to open up more about the art—empathy and connection cannot happen without vulnerability. Red Journal: More Psalms of David focuses on topics that have been difficult for me personally to openly talk about and challenging to process. I am more eloquent in writing than I am in speech, so I pray these words find you well.
